MMMM BOP?????

March 4, 2007

Ok seriously why am I in a bar in dublin and hear the song MMM BOP? What a strange thing to hear on my last night.

The last day in Ireland was great fun. Got up did some final shopping in Galway then headed back to Dublin to do the Guiness Tour which was interesting to say the least. Oh yeah stopped off in the mall on the way there so Lisa could hit up the ATM and what did I hear? Kim you will love this one. YOU GAVE LOVE A BAD NAME!!! WOOHOOO BON JOVI felt like I was back in Jersey. haha.

After the Guinness Tour which ends atop the building in their sky bar with a Guinness it was back to the hotel to pack up and prepare for my return home. Of course after I packed up it was back out for one final night and some more Guinness.

We wandered over to Temple Bar area had dinner and some drinks. Besides hearing MMM BOP it was a good night. The weirdest thing happened. We were right near the dance floor and there were all females on it. Then like 90 minutes later it was like all guys. A couple bad seeds must have scared the girls away and NO it wasnt me. I wasnt out there at the time.

After a few too many drinks it was back to the hotel for about 3 hours sleep and off to the airport bright and early in the morning. DONT GET ME STARTED ON THAT MESS RIGHT NOW. Its time for me to pass out. I woke up at 5:30AM DUBLIN time and its now 9:09 AM DUBLIN TIME…other than some naps on the plane this has been a very LONG day. Off to bed.

American Airlines SUCK and tomorrow or the next time ill blog about why I am worth only $5 to them, yeah boo on them and their dumbasses

LEGGINS AND SKIRTS….ARE IN

March 1, 2007

Sarah did you know that? I bet you didnt sis better catch up on that now. I did take a picture just for you today it was a sign that said FCUK and MEXX females clothes this way…and no I didnt buy you any.

Well my final day of Galway has come and gone with a few more guinness and some more wandering. We went all around Galway some unbelievable sites. We went into a Catholic Church and it was quite intimidating. I was in awe and for me to say that you understand how amazing it was. Seriously I almost wanted to go there for service, but we know that would probably change after I went to a few services. The views were spectacular and on top of that the lighting and everything was interesting. I swear someone helped me out on one shot I took. It was practically pitch black and I had no flash on but it looks like it was very sunny or well lit in the picture. Who knows maybe someone was looking down on my and wanted me to have that shot. Oh and in the store and this is more for my family because they understand its meaning, but there was the biggest rosary beeds I have EVER seen. Grandmom would have been proud.

After leaving the church we visited a college campus along the way. Man if every college campus was like this. The quad was basically inside a castle like structure with ivy growing over the doorways etc. Dont worry I have pics of that too.

We also walked along the water and towards a light house. We couldnt go all the way out but it was still a great view of Galway. Yes it was windy and cold but its what paradise should look like. If paradise was chilly this would be it. Galway is amazing. If you ever come here make sure you check it out. As we wandered back to the hotel we saw what looked like a black bag floating in the water then all of a sudden it moved and dove down. It was a sea otter or seal not sure which, I didnt have my good lense on but got a quick picture. Then we waited and waited I put my good lens on waiting in the rain then all of a sudden it popped its head out I quickly snapped a pic and almost like it was toying with us quickly went back under. He was looking right at us. We stayed hoping for another shot but we did see a rainbow over the city that was pretty cool. I didnt go chase the pot of gold but I probably should have. Oh yeah yesterday when I was on the bus a female midget got on…all I could think was that she was a leprachaun yes I know that is wrong but im in Ireland so give me a break.

After the adventures it was back to the hotel to upload pics and get reorganized for tommorrow bright and early for Dublin for the final day. After getting repacked it was back out for dinner, I had some seafood thing in pastry very good and that strawberry cheesecake again still just as yummy. Of course after to a couple bars we first went to Kings Head and there was a band called NO BANJO and they didnt have a Banjo or a clue on what good music was. They covered Blues mainly but they werent very good so after a couple drinks we left and headed over to Quay Bar for the 2nd night in a row. Another american cover band but they were at least good.

Tomorrow morning up bright and early at 730am to check out of galway and head back to Dublin. I now really want to go inside the churches I took pictures of from outside and also have to do the Guinness Tour. Then party it up late night. It should be a good time at least that is what I am planning. Just site seeing bar hopping and Irish Music. We shall see…Then Saturday its back to Chicago hope it doesnt blizzard….let me check the weather report…uh oh….I just checked snow shower and wind…maybe they wont let me LEAVE DUBLIN….THAT WOULD BE AWESOME….but would might not like it….we will see wont we?

Guinness is my new Iced Tea….

March 1, 2007

For those of you that have been out to eat enough with me you know that I am truly one of those people who goes through oh id say like a million iced teas. Well over here that isnt really an option. Yesterday while at dinner having just water I realised that with practically every meal except breakfast I have had a Guinness in my hand…which is a new experience and to which point I claimed the latest title to a blog entry.

Yesterday started bright and early 6am is early no matter what way you slice it. The people at the Parkview Lodge Bed and Breakfast were very nice and helpful people. In fact I was sad to leave them. The night attendant is also a cab driver so he took me to the train station at 7am, because im super paranoid about being to trains early and expect lots of people to be getting on them like its rush hour or somthing and there will be limited space, but I digress…The people at the bed and breakfast left me out a small continental breakfast so I wouldnt leave without eating something. They didnt start breakfast till 730am so I was very much appreciative. After that I was off to the train, very early but there on time. If you are ever in Belfast I highly reccommend staying there. I mean I want to go back to Belfast just to stay there.

I slept most of the train ride back to Dublin. I then jumped on the LUAS which is pronounced LOU and made me think I was going to the bathroom place…but low and behold it was the tram. I ran into an older gentleman who had a hat with the Dancing Nancies logo on it(the Dave Matthews tell tale) I asked if he had gone to both shows. He missed the Dublin show but loved the show in Belfast. I asked if it was his first time if he was a big fan he said yes to both owned all their cds and dvds which is rare over here. I told him the band was coming in May and he should go to the show because the Band live is really what makes up my obssession with them.

I got to the next train station HEUSTON station to be exact to head to Galway. I missed meeting up with Lisa there but headed to Galway anyway. I slept most of the ride yet again. Im becoming a pro at sleeping in weird places. I got to Galway checked in my hotel and it is right on the water. Beautiful view. I dropped my stuff off and went outside for a walk and to take pics. I got an email from Lisa saying she was delayed and would be here later. So I just left her a key at the front door. I went out and had some lunch, salmon and guinness, good deal. Then had some cheesecake though it may not have been as good as grandmoms or cheesecake factory it was awesome. It was a strawberry mousse type cheesecake with chocolate all over it. YUMMY and im not a huge chocolate person. I then went to the water and no mom and dad I didnt fall in. I just wandered around the whole area in Claddagh Quay(pronounced KEY not QU AY like I think is funnier to say) I also found out the park is called SOUTH PARK…SO IVE BEEN THERE NOW TOO….but no Kyle, Kenny, Stan, Cartman or Chef. At the edge there is a stone covered beach so I walked along that for a while too it was not closer to when Lisa was going to be here and it was very windy so I wandered back to the hotel.

Once Lisa got here we caight up briefly told her what I had done so far, showed some pics etc. Then headed out to dinner. At one place they were having a discussion on Sex and Christianity, I wanted to go so badly but they were only serving italian style pizza and well im in IRELAND…so we stopped into another place and I had some beer battered COD. Wow the serving was huge but I dominated that fish. Oh and I had vegetable soup just so I could get some Soda Bread, but the soup was awesome too.

After dinner it was off to Quay Bar which had been suggested by a couple of friends that have been here before. We watched an Irish band and I knew two songs. No Nay Never and Whiskey in the yard. I think listening to the Chieftans and all that growing up had some effects on me or Nusbaum mad me listen to them at some point one or the other. Lisa nd I just chillied listened to irish music and people watched. Good Times. When the bar closed I was a hop skip and a leap from my hotel which was good I did go back to the water but only from the bridge. I dont need to be falling in that rough freezing cold water. Well another beautiful day here so Im off to enjoy it. I am up and ready before 11am GO ME!!!!!! Tomorrow up bright and early and back to DUBLIN..do I have to come back?
